It wasn’t quite the fairy tale ending that we all hoped for, but Quarrycrest Echo completed his first Kentucky CCI5* with a fabulous clear round in the show jumping, moving up a place to finish 4th.

He had led the dressage at the end of day one on a score of 27.1, only dropping one place ahead of the cross country.

An unfortunate slip turning after the Quarry cost him time and confidence. A wiggle in the water after a sticky jump in cost more time. He finished well for 6.4 time faults but it was very frustrating and disappointing as he definitely had it in him to go inside the time. He again showed that he is a class horse, though, and will be back another day to get the result he so deserves.
