Piggy had an excellent couple of days at Little Downham; she rode six horses, jumped six double clears, and finished in the top ten on all six horses. This was all the more impressive as not one single horse was out for a rosette with all adding time faults to their two phase scores in the cross country with Piggy choosing to run relatively steadily due to bigger targets ahead.
Quarrycrest Echo won his intermediate section, while Morswood – who led his class after dressage and show jumping in only his second intermediate – dropped to 7th after a steady cross country round.
OBOS Cooley was a two phase leader at his first advanced run; even adding 18 time penalties across country round didn’t drop him further than 4th. Cayr Della Caccia was also a two phase leader, finishing runner up in a novice. His four novice dressage scores show good consistency; 25.0, 25.0, 25.5 and 25.3.
In the 5yo class both Carsten of Westoak and Templepatrick Cooley made successful BE debuts, finishing 9th and 7th respectively.
