Prestwold was the final day in a four day eventing marathon from Richmond on Friday, to Aston Le Walls on Saturday and Sunday morning, to Wellington on Sunday afternoon and, finally to Prestwold on Monday. Enthusiasm in the camp was beginning to wane even without the added delight of the very wet weather but they resolved that “they’ve got to learn to go in the mud at some stage so it might as well be now”!
Piggy rode David and Belinda Keir’s Ballycanu and Jayne McGivern’s Templepatrick Cooley.
Ballycanu made it two wins on the bounce in his BE100 section, finishing on a score of 29.5 after adding only 2.0 time faults on the cross country to his 27.5 dressage score.
Templepatrick Cooley also posted a sub-30 dressage score but added four faults in the show jumping to her score. Piggy took her steadily on the cross country to complete with a clear round and 14.8 time faults.
